GENERAL INFORMATION: This reunion will take place on the west side of the greater Chicago area and will afford opportunities to visit the many attractions and amenities this part of the country has to offer.

WHO CAN ATTEND? Any and all current and former crewmen (including Flag staffs and Marines) of a U.S. Naval Ship named Oklahoma City are invited and welcome to attend this reunion. This invitation extends to spouses, friends, children, grandchildren, as all are welcome.

HOTEL: Attendees are to make their own hotel reservations by calling the DoubleTree Hotel Chicago-Oak Brook direct at the number above. Make sure you tell them you are with this reunion to get our special daily rate of $99 (plus tax) which includes complimentary breakfast for two each morning, complimentary covered parking, and complimentary shuttle within a five mile radius. Additional breakfasts per room can be purchased for $10.95 each. To guarantee this rate, make you reservations before September 8, 2009, after which they will be accepted upon availability and the prevailing rate. The hotel is ADA compliant and attendees must make these needs known at the time of making reservations. State law provides that all food and beverages served in the hospitality room and banquet room must be provided and served by the hotel.

DIRECTIONS: The hotel is located 20 miles west of downtown Chicago, 11 miles from O’Hare International Airport, and 15 miles from Midway Airport. Taxis are available from American Taxi (800-244-1177) for $26 from O’Hare and $32 from Midway. For those of you driving, here are your directions: On I-88 (Ronald Reagan Memorial Toll Way), go north on Route 83 (Kingery Hwy) to 16th Street, turn right and go to Spring Road. Turn right again (the hotel will now be on your left), go to Harger Road where you will turn left and see the entrance to the hotel. Maps and directions are available on line also.

EARLY BIRDS: Your arrival date is Tuesday, September 22nd. There are two special tours planned for you.

BASIC REUNION PACKAGE: This includes your registration, hospitality room, welcome reception, dinner and show at the Drury Lane Theater, business meeting, banquet & dance, memorial service & farewell brunch, and the mystery box auction.

TOURS & ACTIVITIES: All tours are optional and require minimum participation. See Tours and Activities for more information.

GREAT LAKES TOUR: You must sign up before September 6th to go on this tour as names of participants have to be provided to base security in mid-September.

DRURY LANE DINNER & SHOW: Please indicate your entrée choice for dinner on the Registration Form.

WEATHER & CLIMATE: Expect early fall like weather with temperatures ranging from the 60’s and 70’s with lows in the 40’s 50’s. A shower or two could be expected too. Jackets and sweaters will be a must early in the day and in the evening.
